About Plantain falafel Recipe

Falafel is a middle Eastern recipe made with chickpeas. But I tried it with plantain. Loved this a lot

Plantain falafel

Ingredients to make Plantain falafel

  • Plantain 2 nos
  • besan flour 2 tbsp
  • Rice flour 2 tbsp
  • Garam masala 2 tsp
  • red chilli powder 2 tsp
  • sooji to coat
  • salt to taste

How to make Plantain falafel

  1. Cut the plantain into half and pressure cook it
  2. Now remove the skin and mash it well in a bowl.
  3. Add besan flour, rice flour, red chilli powder, salt, garam masala powder into it.
  4. Mix all the ingredients together with a ladle.
  5. Now make the mixture into small balls about the size of a ping-pong ball and place it on a plate.
  6. Coat it with sooji and keep aside.
  7. In a pan add cooking oil and turn on the stove.
  8. Deep fry the balls in medium flame until they turn golden brown.
  9. Serve it hot with ketchup or tomato sauce.
