Flat bread baked with onion, capsicum & cheese

Whole wheat focaccia

Ingredients to make Whole wheat focaccia

  • Whole wheat flour 1 cup
  • Instant yeast 1/2 tsp
  • sugar 1tsp
  • salt to taste
  • onion 1 small
  • capsicum half
  • chilli flakes
  • oregano
  • olive oil 2 tbsp
  • Lukewarm water 1/2 cup

How to make Whole wheat focaccia

  1. Chop onions and capsicums. Grate thecheese. Mix flour, salt, sugar, instant yeast with warm water and oil. Knead the dough with stretch & fold method for 8-10 mins. .
  2. Put the dough in a well oiled bowl, cover & keep till double in size(approx 1 hr). Knock down the dough & knead for 2-3 mins.
  3. Shape the dough in a round or square cake tin. Poke the dough with fingers, sprinkle oregano & chilli flakes on top. Spread onions & capsicum. Drizzle oil on top.
  4. Cover with cling film. Let it rest for another half hour. Bake in a pre heated oven at 180 degrees for 25 to 30 mins. After 20 mins if baking spread grated cheese & bake further. Focaccia is now ready.
