About Idli balls. Recipe

A delicious snack with leftover idlis.

Idli balls.

Ingredients to make Idli balls.

  • Idli 4 or 5 ground to a powder 1 1/2 cups.
  • maida 2 tbsp
  • egg 1 well beaten
  • Bread crumbs 2 tbsp
  • onion 1 chopped
  • green chillies 2 chopped
  • coriander leaves chopped 2 tbsp
  • chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Garam masala 1/4 tsp
  • garlic paste 1/4 tsp
  • salt
  • Corn flour 2 tbsp , mix with a little water.
  • Bread crumbs 1/2 cup
  • oil to deep fry

How to make Idli balls.

  1. Make a dough , adding enough water with all ingredients , except the last three.
  2. Heat oil.
  3. Take lemon size balls from dough. Round it , dip in Cornflour mixture & roll with bread crumbs.
  4. Deep fry in oil. Repeat the process with all the other balls.
  5. Serve hot with chilli tomato sauce or ketchup.
  6. Take care while adding salt. As in idli we add enough salt.

My Tip:

Keep the idlis in fridge before grinding. It will become very good powder . Or it will b a paste .
