About White Dhokla Recipe

This is a very famous gujarati dish. In gujarati called it "Idada"..

White Dhokla

Ingredients to make White Dhokla

  • rice - 3 cup
  • urad dal - 1 cup
  • Soaked poha or Boiled rice - 1/4 cup
  • Green chilli and ginger paste - 3tbsp
  • hing - 1tsp
  • Eno - 1 packet
  • Black pepper powder - 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • oil as required

How to make White Dhokla

  1. Soak rice and urad dal for 6 - 7 hours .
  2. Grind rice, urad dal and soaked Poha (or boiled rice) . Then put it aside for another 5 - 6 hours.
  3. Then add green chilli and ginger paste , hing and salt to it.
  4. In a steamer put water to boil. Spread oil in dhokla dish.
  5. Add eno to the batter and mix well. Immediately pour batter in dhokla dish. Sprinkle red chilli and black pepper powder on it.
  6. Steam it for 5 mins. Spread oil on it before serve.

My Tip:

You can temper it by mustard seeds, coriander and seasame seeds.
