Ingredients to make Instant Rawa Upma Mix

  • Coarse Rawa 4 cups
  • green chillies 6 to 8 finely chopped
  • cashews 6 to 8, broken into small pcs
  • peanuts 1 tbsp
  • mustard seeds 2 tsp
  • cumin seeds 2 tsp
  • chana dal 1 tbsp
  • curry leaves 1 sprig
  • oil 5 tbsp
  • salt 4 tsp

How to make Instant Rawa Upma Mix

  1. HEAT 5 TBSP OIL IN A BIG KADAI & ADD 2 TSP MUSTARD SEEDS.LER THEM SPLUTTER
  2. ADD 2 TSP CUMIN SEEDS
  3. ADD 1 TBSP CHANA DAL
  4. AND FRY WELL
  5. ADD 2 TBSP PEANUTS
  6. ADD 6 TO7 CASHEWS AND FRY
  7. ADD 6 FINELY CHOPPED GREEN CHILLIES
  8. ADD 1 SPRING CURRY LEAVES TORN INTO PIECES
  9. WHEN THE CASHEWS & PEANUTS TURN BROWN, ADD 4 CUPS RAWA
  10. MIX WELL & STIR CONSTANTLY OVER MEDIUM FLAME FOR 10 TO 12 MINS TILL THE RAWA BECOMES CRISPY & AROMATIC
  11. ADD 4 TSP SALT
  12. MIX WELL.COOL THE MIX COMPLETELY BEFORE STORING
  13. FOR UPMA:PUT 2TSP OIL IN A KADAI & FRY 1 THINLY SLICED ONION TILL TRANSLUCENT( SKIP THE STEP IF YOU DON'T WANT TO USE ONION)
  14. ADD 1/2 INCH PC CRUSHED GINGER & SAUTE
  15. ADD 2 CUPS WATER & ALLOW IT TO BOIL
  16. WHEN THE WATER STARTS BUBBLING, ADD 1 CUP OF OUR INSTANT UPMA MIX.
  17. USING A HAND WHISK, STIR VIGOURSOLY TO AVOID LUMPS
  18. COOK COVERED OVER SLOW FLAME FOR 5 TO 8 MINS UNTIL UPMA COOKS COMPLETELY
  19. SERVE HOT
