ABOUT Greek Tzatziki sauce RECIPE

Tzatziki sauce is a refreshing yogurt based dish from Greece. Fresh dill, garlic and lemon juice are used to make this delicious dip. It is like our very own Raita and is usually served with pita bread or as a spread on sandwiches.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Yogurt - 1cup
  2. Cucumber - 1 Small, peeled and finely chopped or grated
  3. Fresh Dill - 2tbsp, finely chopped
  4. Lemon juice - 1~2tsp
  5. Garlic - 1 clove, finely minced
  6. Salt & Pepper - to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the yogurt in a cheese cloth or other fine cotton cloth to remove excess water. We need thick yogurt for this dip.
  2. Place cucumber on a kitchen towel; squeeze and remove the excess liquid.
  3. Combine cucumber, dill, lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper in a bowl, stirring with a whisk. Chill for 1 hour before serving. Refrigerate for 1 to 2 days.
