ABOUT Walnut Halwa RECIPE

Walnuts! Once again in our style – the first thing that comes to the mind is it’s good for Brain. Walnuts are an excellent source Omega-3 Fatty Acids and they are rich in Antioxidants. Walnut Halwa is very rich in Nutrients – as it contains other ingredients as well along with Indian Ghee. Here we are coming up with this recipe!

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Walnuts / Akhrot – ½ cup
  2. Milk – 1 cup
  3. Clarified Butter / Desi ghee – 1 ½ tsp
  4. Sugar – ½ cup
  5. Cardamom Powder / Elaichi powder – ¼ tsp
  6. Dry Fruits for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Take ½ cup of Walnuts (Akhrot) in a bowl and add 1 cup of Milk into it.
  2. Soak the Walnuts in Milk for 45 Min.
  3. After 45 Min in a blender add only soaked Walnuts and 2 tsp of Milk and grind it into coarse paste.
  4. Keep the remaining Milk in a bowl itself.
  5. Heat 1 ½ tsp of Clarified Butter (Ghee) in a pan.
  6. Add Walnuts paste and stir continuously on low flame until golden color.
  7. Then add remaining soaked Milk into the pan and stir continuously.
  8. Cover the lid and simmer on low flame until Walnuts soak all the Milk.
  9. Open the lid and stir in between repeatedly.
  10. Once Milk get soaked, add ½ cup of Sugar and stir continuously.
  11. Add ¼ tsp of Cardamom (Elaichi) powder into the Halwa.
  12. Walnut Halwa is ready to serve hot and garnish with dry fruit slices.
