About sushila Recipe

sushila is a traditional maharastrian recipe. this is good for breakfast or any time snack recipe.

Ingredients to make sushila

  • 3 cups salted puffed rice
  • 1 tbsp puffed gram pulses
  • 1/2 tsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp raw peanuts
  • 4-5 curry leaves
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 green chili finely chopped
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp fresh coriander leaves chopped

How to make sushila

  1. soak puffed gram pulses in water for 5 minutes
  2. put the puffed rice in a colander, pour a mug of water over it and give a quick rinse, let the water drain for a minute
  3. heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, peanuts, green chili and curry leaves
  4. saute for 1-2 minutes
  5. now add onion, salt and turmeric powder and saute until it turns golden brown
  6. add coriander powder and mix well
  7. next add soaked gram pulses, puffed rice, powdered sugar, lemon juice and stir fry it for about 2 minutes
  8. add coriander leaves and switch off the flame
  9. serve it hot
