About Boondi Raita Recipe

Tiny balls of deep fried chickpea flour in spiced curd.

Boondi Raita

Ingredients to make Boondi Raita

  • 1 cup curd
  • 1/4 cup salted boondi (deep fried droplets of chickpea flour)
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp roasted cumin seeds (coarsely crushed)
  • 1/2 tsp chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • salt to taste

How to make Boondi Raita

  1. Take the curd in a bowl and add sugar, roasted cumin powder, chopped coriander and salt and mix well till sugar dissolves.
  2. In another bowl, take the boondi and add 1/2 cup hot water. After 20 seconds, drain the water and squeeze the boondi.
  3. Add the boondi to the curd and mix well.
  4. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve chilled.

My Tip:

The quantity of curd can be increased to make the consistency a little thin. Sugar can be avoided if one does not prefer a sweet raita.
