About Plastic ka Achar- kachhe papeeta ka meetha–khatta achar Recipe

It is oil free INSTANT raw papaya pickle, very easy to make, looks lovely and gives transparent look.

Plastic ka Achar- kachhe papeeta ka meetha–khatta achar

Ingredients to make Plastic ka Achar- kachhe papeeta ka meetha–khatta achar

  • 1 medium sized raw papaya
  • 2 cups sugar
  • Juice from 1 lemon
  • 1tsp grated ginger
  • Handful of raisins
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • black pepper corn and powder to taste
  • 1tsp roasted cumin seeds
  • red chilli powder to taste
  • 1 stick of cinnamon

How to make Plastic ka Achar- kachhe papeeta ka meetha–khatta achar

  1. One midsize Raw Papaya peeled from outside( to remove skin and and inside to remove seeds and inner skin.)
  2. Cut into 1 inch wide strips and slice finely.
  3. Add slices in enough water to cover, add salt and put to boil.
  4. Add a little water if required till done.
  5. When papaya is done, add sugar .
  6. Add the grated white ginger and raisins .
  7. Keep on mid-low flame to reduce it to half the volume.
  8. In about 15-20 mins the papaya will become transparent in color.
  9. Add lemon juice and all dry spices.
  10. Keep on low flame for another 5-10 mins.
  11. The water should have a syrupy consistency. You can make it thin or thick as per preference. Cool and serve!

My Tip:

fill in dry sterilized jar,can be kept for 1 month if cooked properly.
