Ingredients to make Yam yam fry

  • Elephant Yam / Senaikizhangu - 1/4 kg
  • turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • oil - 3 tblspn for pan frying
  • Sambar powder - 2 tsp
  • gram flour - 2 tbsp
  • Rice flour - 2 tbsp
  • salt to taste

How to make Yam yam fry

  1. Take a sauce pan and add in the yam pieces. Cover with water. Add in salt, turmeric powder. Bring this to a boil and cook for 15 mins till the yam is cooked. Drain it and set aside in large plate.
  2. Sprinkle salt, sambar powder, gram flour and rice flour over the cooked yam.
  3. Add little water and coat the masala on both sides.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan, drop the yam pieces in oil and fry till golden on both the sides.
