About Potato peanut date curry. ( Singdana ni kadhi ) Recipe

Potato and sweet potatoes are boiled and mashed. Peanuts roasted, peeled and coarse grond. All these are blended with curd to make kadhi ( curry) for fast. It is a best accompaniment with fast rice.

Ingredients to make Potato peanut date curry. ( Singdana ni kadhi )

  • potato boiled and mashed. 1 small. ( 1/3 to bowl after mashed)
  • Boiled Sweet potato 1/2. ( 1/3 bowl)
  • peanuts 1/2 bowl.( roasted)
  • dates soaked and pureed 1 tbsp
  • cashew powered 1 tbsp
  • sendha namak to taste
  • cloves 3
  • cinnamon stick 1 (1/2 inch)
  • Gteen chilli 1
  • ginger grated fine 1 tsp
  • dry ginger powder 1/2 tsp
  • coriander leaves finely chopped 1 tsp.
  • Curry patta 4
  • cumin 1/2 tsp
  • ghee 1 tsp.

How to make Potato peanut date curry. ( Singdana ni kadhi )

  1. Grind peanuts keeping 1 tbsp aside.
  2. Coarse Grind 1 tbsp peanuts in pestle and mortar.
  3. Add some water in mashed sweet potato , mix and strain to remove any strings .
  4. Blend curd, potato and sweet potato. Add ginger.
  5. Add salt. Add grounded peanuts.
  6. Cook the liquid mixture medium heat stirring occasionally.
  7. After it boils add Cashew powder and dry ginger powder.
  8. Heat ghee- in a seasoning pan. Add green chilli. Add cloves , cinnamon stick.
  9. Add curry patta. . Add Cumin and pour the seasoning over the curry.
  10. Mix well. Check the taste.
  11. Add pureed dates. Boil for a minute
  12. Now add peanuts grounded in pestle and mortar. That will give a little crunching taste to your curry.
  13. Remove from heat. Serve with garnish of coriander leaves.
  14. Enjoy with Fast rice or roti / poori made for fast.

My Tip:

Adding coarse ground ( on pestle and mortar) peanuts gives crunch to the cirry.
