Ingredients to make Mango-Vanilla Custard Verrines with Nuts & Dark Chocolate

  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Custard Powder - 1 tbsp
  • Sug -2 tbsp (adjust based on the sweetness of your mangoes)
  • Mango Pulp - 1/2 cup (Undiluted)
  • Nuts - 3 tbsps chopped (pistachios almonds)
  • Dark Chocolate - 2 tbsps

How to make Mango-Vanilla Custard Verrines with Nuts & Dark Chocolate

  1. Boil ¾ cup of milk and to the remaining ¼ cup add custard powder and combine well to avoid lumps.
  2. Slowly by stirring continuously add this custard powder mixture to boiling milk. Stir till this mixture turns thick.
  3. In double boiler or in microwave melt dark chocolate and set aside.
  4. Take short glasses and start to layer. First to go is custard layer. Top it with mango pulp and on it goes chopped nuts layer. Repeat until you reach rim of the glasses.
  5. Garnish with nuts and melted dark chocolate. Refrigerate for an hour or until set. Serve chilled.

My Tip:

1) Do ensure that your custard milk isn't runny or it is in pouring consistency. It should be semi. I ended up making runny custard so my chocolate and mango layers got submerged. 2) I added a spoon of dark chocolate layer after custard and mango layers. Just for the love of chocolate. But that's optional. 3) You can alternate with muesli layer or crunchies or anything. The variations can just go wild. 4) You can also drizzle honey just before serving instead of dark chocolate.
