Millet idli

Ingredients to make Millet idli

  • Litttle millet (Samai) 1 cup
  • Kodo millet (Varagarisi) 1 cup
  • Foxtail millet (Thinai) 1 cup
  • corn Rava (Chola Rava) 1 cup
  • urad dal 1 and 1/4 cup
  • salt as per taste
  • urad dal 1 and 1/4 cup

How to make Millet idli

  1. Put all the above millets in a vessel together and wash them well. Put the black gram dal in another vessel. Soak in water for 3 hours.
  2. After five hours grind them to fine batter adding required salt in a mixer or grinder.
  3. Allow it to ferment for 8 hours.
  4. Grease the idli paltes with oil. Fill the idli plates with the batter and steam them out for 20 minutes.
  5. The soft, spongy and fluffy idlis are ready to be served with chutney or sambhar.

My Tip:

You can also make dosa with this batter.
