About Oats appe Recipe

Oats appe is a very yummy and healthy snack. It consume very less oil. It cab be serve with different chutneys.

Ingredients to make Oats appe

  • Oats flour 1 cup
  • semolina/sooji 1/4 cup
  • sugar 1/2 teaspoon
  • salt 1 teaspoon
  • 1 1/4 cup yogurt/curd
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup finely shredded cabbage
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup finely shredded carrot
  • 1-2 finely chopped green chili
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro/coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • For tempering
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds

How to make Oats appe

  1. In a bowl add oats flour, sooji, salt and sugar. Mix well.
  2. Add curd and water . Mix well and make thick batter. keep it aside for 20 minutes.
  3. Add cabbage , bell pepper and cilantro and mix well.
  4. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds , when it crack then turn off the gas.
  5. Add this tempering into oats batter.
  6. Heat appe pan and drop only one drop of oil Add baking soda into batter. Mix well. pour one tbsp batter and cover with lid.
  7. Because of soda , it will rise and make fluffy.
  8. Cook it on medium gas and turn after 3-4 minutes.
  9. Cook it for more 3-4 minutes. Serve hot with different types of chutney.

My Tip:

cook appe on low flame
