Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. To pressure cook:
  2. 1 cup soaked peas
  3. 1/2 cup water
  4. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  5. 1/4 tsp Salt
  6. To Grind:
  7. 1/2 roughly chopped onion
  8. 1/2 roughly chopped tomato
  9. 1 green chilly
  10. 2 garlic cloves
  11. Small piece of ginger
  12. 1 tsp red chilly powder
  13. 1 tsp Coriander powder
  14. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  15. 1/2 tsp fennel seeds powder
  16. For the gravy:
  17. 1 tsp oil
  18. 1/4 tsp Fennel seeds
  19. Grinded paste
  20. 1 + 1 1/2 cups water
  21. Cooked peas
  22. Salt as required
  23. 1/2 tsp pepper powder
  24. 1/4 - 1/2 tsp chat masala
  25. Chopped coriander leaves
  26. For Garnishing:
  27. 10 pani pooris
  28. Grated carrots
  29. Coriander leaves
  30. chopped onion

Instructions

  1. Pressure cook the soaked peas for 5 whistles by adding water(water till peas immersed)
  2. Grind the ingredients mentioned under ‘to Grind’ to a coarse paste.
  3. Heat oil in a pan,add fennel seeds allow it to splutter.
  4. Then add grinded paste,sauté for a minute.Add cup of water ,cover and cook for 5-8 mins.Add the cooked peas,1 1/2 cups water and cook until it becomes thick.Finally add chat masala,pepper powder,coriander leaves and switch off the stove.
  5. Serve hot with pani poori,grated carrots,coriander leaves and onions
