Dhokla with moong daal is HEALTHY combination for snack

Moong daal dhokla

Ingredients to make Moong daal dhokla

  • Moong daal 3/4 cup
  • green chilly 3
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 spoon sugar
  • A pinch of asfoetida
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp besan
  • 2 tsp curd
  • 1 tsp fruit salt
  • For the tempering
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp sesame seeds
  • A pinch of asfoetida
  • 2 tsp finely chopped green chilly
  • For the garnish
  • 1 tsp finely chopped coriander

How to make Moong daal dhokla

  1. Combine the daal and green chilly and blend in a mixer.
  2. Take a bowl. Add salt,sugar, Asafoetida,oil ,turmeric powder, besan and curds and mix well to make a batter
  3. Just before steaming sprinkle fruit salt and mix lightly.
  4. Pour batter into the greased thali
  5. Stem in a steamer for 10 to 12 minutes
  6. Heat oil in a pan .add the mustard seeds
  7. Add sesame seeds, Asafoetida and saute on a medium flame
  8. Add the green chilly and saute on a medium flame
  9. Pour the tempering over the prepared dhoklas and spread it.
  10. Cut into a pieces
  11. Serve hot
