Ingredients to make Savoury Bread

  • 100 gms maida/white flour
  • 25 gms wholewheat flour
  • 25 gms butter
  • 150 ml milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 red bell pepper finely sliced and sauteed in butter
  • Some freshly chopped coriander.
  • pepper to taste
  • A pinch of garlic powder
  • salt to taste

How to make Savoury Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 175 degrees celsius.
  2. Sift the flours and all the seasoning together in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Rub in the butter well with your hands into the flours
  4. Beat the egg and milk well for 5-7 mins using an electric beater.
  5. Add to the sifted flour mixture to make a stiff batter
  6. Add the sauteed bell pepper and the chopped coriander.
  7. Sprinkle grated cheese, dot with butter all over and bake for 35-40 mins.
  8. Cool on a wire rack. Serve sliced and buttered.
