Vanilla Cake

Ingredients to make Vanilla Cake

  • All purpose flour- 2 cups
  • Oil - 1 cup
  • Granulated brown Sugar - 1 and 1/2 cups
  • Eggs - 3
  • Milk (at room temperature) - 1 cup
  • Baking powder - 1 tsp
  • Vanilla Essence - 1/2 tsp
  • A pinch of salt
  • Dry Fruits - 1 tbsp (optional)

How to make Vanilla Cake

  1. In a bowl, take the oil and sugar together and stir well. Add the all purpose flour to it and keep stirring until all the three ingredients have blended well.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and add it to the above mixture.
  3. Apart from the nuts and raisins, mix all the ingredients mentioned above and let the mixture rest for an hour. This mixture can be stirred every 15 minutes for best results.
  4. Make sure the batter is not too thick nor too thin.
  5. Preheat the baking tray for about 2 mins and after removing the tray from the oven spray some oil on it.
  6. You can now spread the cake batter on the tray, take about a minute or two and add the nuts and raisins on top of the batter.
  7. Preheat the oven for about 5 mins.
  8. Now you are all set to place the tray inside the oven at 350 degrees for about 25 to 30 mins. (The temperature settings for each oven might differ).
  9. Keep checking if the cake is getting baked by opening the oven every 10 mins. The best way to check if the cake is fully done, take a toothpick and pierce the cake. If the toothpick comes out neat it means the cake is done.
  10. Allow the cake to cool down and then serve with tea or you can have it otherwise too.
