About Leftover Dal Pakodas Recipe

These pakodas are perfect tea time snacks that can be made in a jiffy using the leftover dal made for lunch.No one can ever find it out and it tastes great with a cup of hot tea! You may start cooking a little extra dal each time, just for making these wonderful pakodas !

Leftover Dal Pakodas

Ingredients to make Leftover Dal Pakodas

  • Leftover dal - 1 cup(i used yellow moong dal fry made for roti)
  • besan flour -3/4 cup
  • Rice flour -1/4 cup
  • Green chilli-3 finely chopped
  • onion -1 finely chopped
  • Chopped ginger -1 teaspoon
  • coriander leaves -handful
  • Asefotida-1 /2 teaspoon
  • salt to taste
  • curry leaves few
  • oil to fry

How to make Leftover Dal Pakodas

  1. In a bowl add all the ingredients given except oil and mix them to form batter which is of idly batter consistency.Do not add water as dal will have sufficient moisture.
  2. Heat oil in kadai and drop a spoonful of batter in oil Repeat the process for rest o batter .Fry them in medium flame until golden brown and crisp.
  3. Serve hot with green chutney or tomato sauce.

My Tip:

Depending on the spice of leftover dal we can increase or decrease the spice level of pakodas. We can add veggies too.
