A healthy breakfast to kick start the day . A captivating , yellow and green coloured power packed toast .

Romaine egg toast

Ingredients to make Romaine egg toast

  • Brown bread 2 slices .
  • eggs 2
  • White pepper powder 1 teaspoon
  • salt as required
  • butter 1 tablespoon
  • Romaine lettuce 6 full leaves .

How to make Romaine egg toast

  1. Take 2 eggs , a teaspoon of white pepper powder , salt in a bowl . Whisk this mixture with a force.
  2. Now take a bread slice . Dip both the sides in the egg mixture . See the egg coats the bread .
  3. Heat a teaspoon of butter in a pan.Place the egg coated bread on the melted butter . Toast .
  4. Toast both the sides under low flame . Wait till the toast looks golden yellow colour .
  5. Chop the romaine lettuce into big squares .
  6. Toss these romaine lettuce for 5 seconds . Don’t over cook the lettuce as it’s nutrients gets lost
  7. Repeat the same for other bread slices. Sandwich the tossed lettuce between the bread slices .
  8. Place few tossed lettuce on top of the toast . Romaine egg toast is ready to enjoy .

My Tip:

Don’t toss the bread under high flame . The toast would turn hard and dark , burnt . Don’t toss the lettuce leaves more than 3 seconds as the nutrients gets lost .
