Banana flower chutney has so many health benefits and very tasty.

Banana flower chutney

Ingredients to make Banana flower chutney

  • banana flower - 1 medium sized
  • turmeric powder - ouater tsp
  • oil - 2 tbsp
  • Garm dhal - 1 tbsp
  • Urad dhal - 1 tbsp
  • red chilli - 4 number
  • garlic - 6 cloves
  • tamarind - small marble size
  • Small onion's - 25 number
  • curry leaves - 1 Spring
  • Grated coconut - 2 tbsp
  • salt - required
  • Little water

How to make Banana flower chutney

  1. Clean well and cook well the banana flower with just enough water ,Salt and turmeric powder.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add gram dhal,urad dhal and red chillies and tamarind.
  3. When dhals turns golden brown,add garlic cloves,onion's and curry leaves and saute till the onion's are nicely browned.
  4. And add grated coconut and salt and saute for a minute. Now add the boiled banana flower and fry for a minute.
  5. Set a side to cool.
  6. Add little water and blend well for every thing till smooth.
  7. Serve with rice and idly or dosa.

My Tip:

Clean the banana flower well and must not to be chopped.
