Makhana dry fruit firni is the best dessert for your family in this navratri . It is delicious milk based dessert with loads of dry fruit and makhana.makhana is very good source of calcium .

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 4 cup full cream milk
  2. 2 cup makhana
  3. 1 table spoon desi ghee
  4. 1/2cup sugar
  5. 1 teaspoon cardmom powder
  6. 3/4 cup grounded cashew and almond
  7. 1table spoon rasins
  8. 1tablespoon chirongi
  9. 1 table spoon finely chopped almondand cashew for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Heat milk in a pan and cook till reduced to half .
  2. Take another pan and heat ghee in it .
  3. Roast makhana in it until they are crisp
  4. Remove makhana from heat and transfer in a plate for cooling .
  5. Grind makhana and make a course powder
  6. Now add gronded cashew and almond ,raisins ,and chirongi to the milk .
  7. Cook for 5 minutes add cardamom powder and sugar in it .
  8. Boil for 5 minutes add gronded makhana in the milk .And cook till the mixture thicken .
  9. Check the consistency of phirni because phirni is thicker than kheer.
  10. Remove the phirni from the heat .
  11. And transfer into small bowls garnish with dryfruit slivers .
  12. Chill phirni for 3 to 4 hours before serving.
  13. Phirni is ready .
