Fasting Porridge using Kodomillet

Ingredients to make Fasting Porridge using Kodomillet

  • 1 cup kodomillet
  • 1/4 cup moong dal
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • Bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cardamom, star anise each
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato chopped
  • 1 green chilly
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 1 tablespoons ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup carrot, beans, peas (mixed)
  • salt required
  • water required
  • 1 tablespoons coconut oil

How to make Fasting Porridge using Kodomillet

  1. In a pressure cooker, heat oil. Saute bay leaf, cinnamon, cardamom and star anise.
  2. Add chopped onion, tomato and Ginger garlic paste. Saute till they are cooked and raw smell goes off.
  3. Add veggies, chilly and curry leaves and saute for a min.
  4. Now add soaked kodomillet, moong dal, salt and a cup of water
  5. Pressure cook it for 2 whistles
  6. Switch off, when pressure released, transfer cooker again to heat.
  7. In medium flame, add coconut milk and allow it to boil for a min.
  8. Switch off and serve hot with chutney
