Ingredients to make Paneer butter masala

  • Paneer 500 gm
  • Kaju paste ( made with handful of kaju, soaked in 3 tbsp milk and grounded)
  • Paste of 2 big sized onion
  • Puree of 3 tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp jeera
  • 1 tsp dhania powder
  • 3 tsp kasturi methi
  • 1/4 tsp haldi powder
  • 1 green chilli
  • 5-6 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp ginger chopped
  • Salt as per taste
  • 2 tbsp malai, deposited on boiled milk
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Butter 2 tbsp
  • Oil for frying paneer
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing

How to make Paneer butter masala

  1. You can use butter or oil as desired to cook, then cut the paneer in cubes and fry them.
  2. Next, put these paneer cubes in warm water to remove the excess oil and get them soft.
  3. Keep a handful of kaju soaked in 3 tbsp milk for 30 mins. After that make a paste by grinding them both together.
  4. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. Then add the jeera, dhania powder, onion paste and cook till it leaves the oil. Then add the paste of green chili, ginger and garlic as well.
  5. Next, add the kaju paste and cook well till the oil comes on sides, then add the tomato puree. Now add haldi, salt, garam masala and cook till the fat appears. Then add kasturi methi and butter.
  6. After that malai, cook again till the oil separates itself. Then pour in 1/2 cup of milk and cook for 2 mins, then add paneer again and cook for 3-4 mins.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
