About Sayel maani Recipe

A dish that is prepared from previous day's chapattis.

Sayel maani

Ingredients to make Sayel maani

  • Chapattis 5 to 6
  • green chillies 3
  • onion 2 medium sized
  • oil 3 tablespoon
  • cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon
  • tomatoes chopped 2 medium sized
  • turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  • cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • salt to taste
  • 1 lemon
  • water 1 and 1/2 cup
  • Fresh coriander leaves, a few sprig

How to make Sayel maani

  1. Chop the onions, green chillies and coriander leaves.
  2. Heat oil in a non stick pan. Add the cumin seeds, onion and sauté for 1 minute. Cut the chapati into small pieces. Add green chillies to the pan and saute for 1 minute.
  3. Then add tomatoes and saute till they soften. Add 1/4 cup water and cook it well. Then add turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and red chilli powder and mix well.
  4. Add 1/4 cup water and cook for 1 minutes. Then add chapatti with 1/2 cup of water and mix well. Cook for 1 minute, then add coriander leaves and mix.
  5. Transfer into a serving bowl, squeeze the juice of a lemon and serve it hot.

My Tip:

Make a small piece of chapati.
