Green Grapes & Lemon Rasam

Ingredients to make Green Grapes & Lemon Rasam

  • 1/4 cup - Cooked toor dal
  • 1/2 cup - Green grapes (deseeded and diced)
  • 2 - Tomatoes (small & ripen)
  • 1 teaspoon - Rasam powder
  • 2 pieces - Garlic (crushed)
  • 1 teaspoon - Lemon juice
  • 2 - Cloves
  • 2 - Bay leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon - Asafoetida powder
  • 2 pieces - Green chilly (slit opened)
  • Few curry leaves
  • Chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tablespoon - oil
  • Salt to taste

How to make Green Grapes & Lemon Rasam

  1. Wash the tomatoes and smash them properly.
  2. Now take the ingredients, cooked toor dal, crushed garlic cloves,rasam powder, salt in a bowl and mix it with some water. Keep this aside.
  3. Take a pan and heat the oil, put in the bay leaves, cloves and fry till it is brown in colour.
  4. Add in the asafoetida powder, green chillies and saute for a few minutes.
  5. Add to this the following ingredients: curry leaves, diced green grapes and saute it again for a few minutes.
  6. Finally put in the crushed tomatoes and dal-water mixture and let it boil properly.
  7. Once boiled, switch off the heat and add in the lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves.
  8. Serve instantly hot with rice to enjoy it.
My Tip: Sour grapes when cooked with spices provide an excellent texture to the rasam.
