Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Sliced onion - 2
  2. Chopped green chillies - 2
  3. Ajwain - 1/2 teaspoon
  4. Chopped coriander - 2 tablespoon
  5. Baking soda a pinch
  6. salt to taste
  7. Amchoor - 1 teaspoon
  8. Garam masala - 1/4 teaspoon
  9. asafoetida a pinch
  10. Rice flour 2 tablespoon
  11. Gram flour 5-6 tablespoon
  12. water as required
  13. turmeric - 1/4 teaspoon
  14. Chat masala to sprinkle
  15. oil as required


  1. In a bowl, add all the ingredients and make a thick paste.
  2. Heat the appam pan, add a little oil in each cavity. Then pour the pakoda batter into all the cavities.
  3. Let it roast from both the sides on a slow to medium flame.
  4. Add a few drops of oil while flipping to get more crispy pakodas.
  5. Sprinkle some chat masala and serve it with ketchup and mint chutney.
