Spicy vermicelli with vegetables

Samia upma

Ingredients to make Samia upma

  • Vermicelli 1 cup
  • onion chopped 1 number
  • Carrot, beans and cauliflower chopped 1 cup
  • green chilly 3 numbers
  • ginger grated 1 teaspoon
  • curry leaves
  • salt
  • mustard seed 1/2 teaspoon
  • Urd dal 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chana dal 1/2 teaspoon
  • oil 2 tablespoon
  • water 1 cup

How to make Samia upma

  1. Dry roast vermicelli
  2. Fry cashew and keep aside
  3. In a kadai add oil, add mustard seed urd dal, chana dal and fry it
  4. Add chopped onion and saute till pink
  5. Add Ginger and add vegetables and saute
  6. Simultaneously in another bowl boil water
  7. Add 1/4 cup water to the vegetables and cook covered
  8. When it is half cooked add vermicelli and mix well
  9. Add 1/4 cup water to the dish and mix well. Cook covered
  10. Check whether the vermicelli is cooked
  11. If not add 1/4 cup of water and mix well and cook covered
  12. Do not over cook vermicelli
  13. Add fried cashews to it
  14. Serve hot ;-) :-D :-)
