Instant Dhokla

Ingredients to make Instant Dhokla

  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1/2 cup gram flour
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp citric acid
  • water as required
  • oil for tadka
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp white till
  • Green chilli
  • curry leaves

How to make Instant Dhokla

  1. IN A MIXING BOWL ADD 1 CUP SEMOLINA, 1/2 CUP GRAM FLOUR, 2 TSP SUGAR.
  2. ADD SALT TO TASTE & 1/4 TSP CITRIC ACID.
  3. ADD 1 TBSP OIL & 1 CUP WATER MIX WELL.
  4. MAKE A SMOOTH BATTER LIKE IDLI BATTER.
  5. GREES THALI WITH 1 TSP OIL.
  6. IN A PAN BOIL 2 GLASS OF WATER & PLACE THE GREESED THALI.
  7. COVER THE LID AND TAKE ON HIGH FLAME.
  8. ADD 1/4 TSP BAKING SODA ADD LITTLE WARM WATER & MIX WELL.
  9. POUR THE BATTER INTO THE GREASED THALI.
  10. STEAM BAKE THE BATTER FOR 12-15 MINUTES ON MEDIUM HEAT.
  11. COOK TILL A KNIFE INSERTED COMES OUT CLEAN.
  12. HEAT 2 TBSP OIL ADD 1 TSP MUSTARD SEEDS, 1 TSP SESAME SEEDS, 2 TBSP GREEN CHILLIES & CURRY LEAVES.
  13. ONCE THEY CRACKLE, FRY TILL THE CURRY LEAVES TURN CRISP.
  14. ALLOW THE DHOKLA TO COOL SLIGHTLY BEFORE CUTTING.
  15. CUTTING DHOKLA INTO DESIRED SHAPES.
  16. POUR THE TEMPERING ON THE PREPARED DHOKLA.
  17. NOW READY TO SERVE.
  18. SERVE IMMEDIATELY WITH CHUTNEY OR SAUCE.
  19. SUPER SOFT YUMMY DHOKLA IS READY TO EAT.
  20. SERVE HOT.
