About Almond Doughnut Recipe

Traditional American Doughnuts or “Donuts” as they are spelt, is a tempting dessert not only for kids, but also adults. Historically, they can be traced back to the Dutch who bought these beauties to America. Here’s a trendy and attractive doughnut recipe to add to your favourite collection.

Almond Doughnut

Ingredients to make Almond Doughnut

  • for doughnuts:
  • wheat flour 4 cups
  • castor sugar 2 tbspn
  • Milk powder 1/2 cup
  • yeast 1 tbspn
  • salt 1 tspn
  • Unsalted butter 100 gm
  • Vegetable oil to deep fry
  • FOR GLAZE:
  • 6-8 almonds slivered fine
  • 1 tbspn unsalted butter
  • 2 tbspn milk
  • 1 cup Icing sugar
  • 1/2 tspn vanilla extract
  • 1 tbspn sweetened cocoa powder

How to make Almond Doughnut

  1. for doughnut:
  2. add Wheat Flour into a bowl and add Milk Powder, Salt, Caster Sugar, Yeast and make a soft dough
  3. Cover your dough and Raise it for 2 to 3 Hours
  4. After 2 to 3 Hours open your dough and make shapes
  5. Now Preheat your Oven on 250 c for 5 minutes and after that off the flame and raise your donuts for 2 to 3 minutes into oven before fry.
  6. After this deep fry your donuts till slightly brown
  7. for glaze:
  8. melt the butter and toast the slivered almonds until slightly brown
  9. soft the icing sugar in a bowl
  10. add milk and vanilla extract and mix together to make a thick paste
  11. either dip a side of the doughnuts in the glaze or add and spread a tbspn full of the glaze on one side of the doughnuts
  12. add a tbspn of slivered toasted almonds and sift or sprinkle a tspn full of cocoa powder on each glazed doughnut
