Puliyogare / Tamaraind Rice

Ingredients to make Puliyogare / Tamaraind Rice

  • 1 Teaspoon of Musted seeds
  • 2 teaspoon of urudu dal
  • 2 teaspoon of channa dal
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 Teaspoon of White sesmi seed
  • 2 teaspoon of coriander seeds
  • 6-8 RED CHILLIES
  • Few curry leaves
  • 1 Teaspoon of hing
  • 1teaspoon turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • 3 Tablespoons of Gingerly oil
  • One Lemon sized tamarind
  • 2 Cups of water
  • 300 grams of cooked white rice

How to make Puliyogare / Tamaraind Rice

  1. HEAT A PAN ADD 1 TEASPOON OF CHANNA DAL AND 1 TEASPOON URUDU DAL
  2. ADD 1/4 TEASPOON OF FENUGREEK SEEDS, 1/4 TEASPOON OF PEPPER
  3. ROAST WELL
  4. ADD 2 TEASPOON OF CORIANDER SEEDS, 1 TEASPOON OF WHITE SESMI SEED
  5. ADD 6-8 RED CHILLIES
  6. ROST UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN AND TRANSFER THE PLATE AND ALLOW IT COOL COMPLETELY
  7. AFTER COOL GRIND THE MASALAAND GET THE FINE POWDER
  8. TAKE A ONE LEMON SIZED TAMARIND BALL AND SOAK INTO WATER (30 MINUTES BEFORE) AND PREPARE A JUICE
  9. DRAIN THE JUICE AND KEEP ASIDE
  10. TAKE A 300 GRAMS COOKED WHITE RICE AND KEEP ASIDE
  11. HEAT A PAN ADD 3 TABLESPOONS OF GINGERLY OIL
  12. ADD 1 TEASPOON OF MUSTED SEEDS AND 1 TEASPOON OF URUDU DAL
  13. 1 TEASPOON OF CHANNA DAL
  14. 2 TEASPOON OF PEANUT WITHOUT SKIN
  15. ADD 3 RED CHILLI
  16. SAUTE WELL UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN AND ADD CURRY LEAVES AND HING
  17. ADD 1 TEASPOON OF TURMERIC POWDER AND DECREASE THE FLAME
  18. ADD SALT TO TASTE AND ADD TAMARIND WATER
  19. ADD TAMARIND JUICE AND BOILED FOR 10 MINUTES
  20. AFTER 20 MINUTES ADD MASALA POWDER AND MIX WELL
  21. COOK FOR 7-10 MINUTES AND SWITCH OFF THE FLAME
  22. ADD TAMARIND SAUCE INTO WHITE RICE
  23. MIX WELL UNTIL COMBINED WELL
  24. DELICIOUS TAMARIND RICE / PULIYOGARE IS READY
  25. TRANSFER THE PLATE
  26. WITH PAPATS AND ENJOY
