Ingredients to make Moong Dal Khamni

  • Moong Dal - 1 Cup
  • Curd - 1 tablespoon
  • Besan - 1 tablespoon
  • Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Baking Soda - 1 Teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • For Tadka...
  • Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • 8-10 curry leaves
  • 2-3 green chillies(chopped finely)
  • a pinch of Hing
  • 1 tablespoon - oil
  • 2 teaspoon- sugar
  • For Garnishing...
  • Pomegranate seeds
  • Sev
  • Coriander (chopped)

How to make Moong Dal Khamni

  1. Soak dal for an hour.
  2. Grind the dal and add curd, salt, besan, sugar, oil and mix well.
  3. Mix soda and transfer batter immediately to the container to be steamed .
  4. Steam it for 15-20 minutes on a medium flame.
  5. Let it cool for some time and crush the khaman, spread it in a flat plate for cooling.
  6. Heat oil in kadhai, add rai, hing, chillies, curry leaves and crushed khaman. Add sugar and mix well.
  7. Garnish with pomegranate seeds, coriander and serve with hot cup of Tea.
