ABOUT Gulab Jamun RECIPE

Sweet dumplings of khoya and paneer.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Soft mawa 250 gms
  2. Paneer 100 gms
  3. Refined flour 1/3 cup
  4. Cashewnuts 1 tbsp
  5. Chironji 1 tbsp
  6. Cardamom powder 1/4 tsp
  7. For sugar syrup:
  8. Sugar 3 cups
  9. Water 1 1/2 Cup
  10. Cardamom powder 1/4 tsp

Instructions

  1. For the syrup:
  2. Heat a pan, add water and sugar, let it boil, when it starts boiling, cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until you get 1 thread consistency. Add cardamom powder. Turn off the flame.
  3. For the gulab jamun:
  4. In a bowl add mawa, paneer and refined flour and rub it with your palm until you get very smooth dough.
  5. For stuffing: In a small bowl, add dry fruits and cardamom powder, mix well.
  6. Take a small lump from the dough and flatten it with your palm, put some stuffing and cover it from all sides to make a ball.
  7. Drop these balls in medium hot oil, now fry these balls on slow flame.
  8. Pour oil on these balls with the ladle. Do not touch the ladle directly.
  9. Rotate the ladle slowly so that the balls can fry evenly from all sides.
  10. Drain out the golden balls from oil, now place them in luke warm sugar syrup for 1-2 hours to get sweet, soft and fluffy gulab jamuns.
