Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 3 tablespoons Maasi (finely powdered)
  2. 3 big onions (thinly sliced)
  3. 3 small tomatoes
  4. 3 to 4 teaspoons red chilly powder (adjust acc.to your preference)
  5. 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder
  6. Salt to taste
  7. TO TEMPER
  8. 3 tablespoons gingelly oil (Indian sesame oil)
  9. ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
  10. 1 teaspoon urad dhal
  11. Handful of curry leaves
  12. 4 dry red chilly
  13. A pinch of hing

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add all the ingredients given under “to temper” one by one.
  2. Then add in sliced onions and saute till it turns translucent (you can also saute till it mashes. but i preferred it to be little crunchy).
  3. Add red chilly powder, turmeric powder, salt and chopped tomato.
  4. Cook in low flame till the tomato mashes well.
  5. Then add in the powdered maasi, mix well and cook for a min till the raw smell goes off.
  6. Switch off the flame and serve with rice.
