Goan - Chicken Cafreal

Ingredients to make Goan - Chicken Cafreal

  • 2 chicken legs with thigh
  • Coriander leaves 1 cup
  • Green chillies 2
  • Cinnamon 1 inch stick
  • Black pepper 5
  • Capsicum half (small one)
  • Mint leaves 1/4th cup
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Cloves 5
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Vinegar 2 tbsp
  • Onion 1 small chopped
  • khuskhus 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

How to make Goan - Chicken Cafreal

  1. Grind all ingredients (except onion and oil ) to a smooth paste.
  2. Marinate the chicken legs with thigh in this for minimum 4 hours.
  3. Heat a flat and broad pan and add oil. Add chopped onions and sau\te till transparent. Add chicken, cover and cook till the chicken is done, turning it a couple of times in between.
  4. Serve hot with bread or onion rings or potato wedges and boiled beans.

My Tip:

The capsicum added is my personal touch to give the dish a better green colour as well a light smoothnes alongwith a tinge of sweetness.
