ABOUT Paneer tikka masala RECIPE

Paneer tikka cooked on charcoal then mixed with tomato sweet-spicy gravy.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. For paneer tikka:
  2. Paneer 500 gm
  3. Capsicum -2
  4. Onion -2
  5. Hung curd 1 .5 cup
  6. 3-4 tbsp oil
  7. 2 tbsp besan or gram flour
  8. 1 tsp garam masala
  9. 1 tsp roasted jeera powder
  10. 1 tsp dhania powder
  11. 1 tsp chat masala
  12. 1 tsp amchur powder
  13. Juice of half lemon
  14. One tsp kasturi methi
  15. Salt 1/2 tsp
  16. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  17. Ajwain 1/2 tsp
  18. Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  19. Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  20. Pepper 1/2 tsp
  21. For masala: 3 onions fried and then pureed
  22. Tomato puree of 5 tomatoes
  23. Salt per taste
  24. Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  25. Green chili-2 cut it long
  26. Badi elachi-2
  27. Tej patta or bay leaf 2
  28. Laung-3-4
  29. 2 tbsp cream
  30. Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  31. 1/4 tsp sugar
  32. One tsp jeera, dhania powder each
  33. 2 tbsp Oil
  34. One tbsp cornflour mixed with 2 tbsp milk
  35. Chopped coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. For paneer tikka: First take 2 tbsp oil in a pan. heat it. Then add besan to it, roast it till raw smell goes. Turn the gas off.
  2. Once cool, add all dry masala and mix well
  3. In a big bowl take hung curd, add ginger garlic paste, lemon juice, masala mix, salt. Mix well
  4. Then add paneer cubes, capsicum, onion and one tbsp oil. Mix well and keep in fridge for minimum 2 hours.
  5. Put in a skewer sequence wise and cook on charcoal from all sides, keep brushing a little oil in between.
  6. Paneer tikka is ready.
  7. For the gravy: Take oil in pan and add jeera, dhania powder, badi elachi, laung, tej patta. Then add the onion paste. Cook for some time and then add ginger-garlic paste.
  8. Add the tomato puree. Cook till fat separates.
  9. Add cream and cornflour milk. Again cook till oil comes on sides and add sugar, salt, garam masala and chillies and lots of fresh dhania leaves.
  10. Finally, add paneer tikka with masala and cook for some time and enjoy with hot rotis.
