Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Dry Yeast - 1 tsp
  2. Sugar - 1 tbsp
  3. Sooji 2 cups
  4. Salt 1 tsp or to taste
  5. Milk powder 1 tbsp
  6. Water 3/4 cup
  7. Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
  8. Chat masala 1/2 tsp
  9. Chopped coriander 1-2 tbsp
  10. For Tempering:
  11. oil 2 tbsp
  12. Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
  13. Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  14. Curry leaves 8-10
  15. Sliced onion 1
  16. Grated carrot 1/2

Instructions

  1. Take 4 tbsp lukewarm water, add yeast and sugar. Keep this aside for 5-10 mins so that it becomes frothy .
  2. In a bowl add sooji, water, milk powder and spices, then pour in the yeast water. Knead into a soft dough and keep it at a warm place to prove or to double in size.
  3. Prepare the tempering, then let it cool and add coriander. Add this tadka into the proofed dough and mix well.
  4. Make small balls, place them on a baking tray and let them proof again.
  5. Now bake these buns in the preheated oven at 180 degrees celsius for 10 mins.
  6. Serve it with mint-garlic chutney.
