Pav Bhaji Masala Cheela

Ingredients to make Pav Bhaji Masala Cheela

  • Soaked 1 cup moongdal
  • ginger 1/2 inch
  • green chillies 2
  • oil as required
  • asafoetida powder 1/4 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Roasted cumin 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • water 1/4 cup or as required
  • For the topping...
  • Fresh coriander
  • red chilli powder to taste
  • salt to taste
  • Pav bhaji masala 2tbsp
  • tomatoes 1/4 cup finely chopped
  • onion 1/4 cup finely chopped
  • Capcicum 1/4 cup finely chopped

How to make Pav Bhaji Masala Cheela

  1. SOAK 1 CUP MOONG DAL FOR 3 HOURS
  2. DRAIN, TRANSFER TO A GRINDER, ADD 2 GREEN CHILLIES, 1/2 INCH PIECE OF GINGER
  3. ADD 1 TSP ROASTED CUMIN, 1/4 TSP EACH OF ASAFOETIDA & TURMERIC POWDER
  4. BLEND INTO A SMOOTH PASTE
  5. ADD SALT TO TASTE, WATER AS REQUIRED, MAKE A SMOOTH BATTER
  6. HEAT A NON-STICK PAN, GREASE WITH 1-2 TSP OIL
  7. ADD A LADLE FULL OF BATTER, COOK ON LOW- MEDIUM HEAT
  8. WHEN IT IS HALF COOKED, SPRINKLE 1/2 TSP EACH OF TOMATOES, ONION & CAPSICUM ON TOP
  9. ADD 1 TBSP FRESH CORIANDER, SALT TO TASTE, 1/2 TSP RED CHILLI POWDER
  10. SPRINKLE 1/2 TSP PAV BHAJI MASALA
  11. ADD 1 TSP GHEE, COOK FOR 1 MORE MINUTE, FLIP
  12. PRESSING DOWN LIGHTLY, COOK UNTIL CRISP & DONE
  13. FLIP AGAIN & FOLD THE CHEELA, TAKE OFF HEAT
  14. CUT INTO WEDGES
  15. SERVE HOT WITH KETCHUP OR CHUTNEY
