About Smoked Beef Curry Recipe

Smoked beef is enjoyed in all the north-eastern states of India. The style of cooking varies from state to state. This is a Naga style recipe but without bamboo shoot. The smoked beef flavors incorporates beautifully with the spices and is best enjoyed with steamed rice.

Smoked Beef Curry

Ingredients to make Smoked Beef Curry

  • 1 kg Smoked Beef chopped
  • 3-4 potatoes chopped
  • 1 Tomatoe chopped
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 tbsp garlic-ginger crushed together
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 5-6 Dried red chillies
  • salt to taste
  • 2-3 tbsp oil

How to make Smoked Beef Curry

  1. Heat oil in a heavy bottom pot, add onions and garlic -ginger mixture. Stir for 2-3 mins.
  2. Add the tomatoes ,1 tsp salt, turmeric powder, chilii powder and dried red chillies. Stir fry for 2 mins.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium and blend well.
  4. Now add the beef and potatoes and mix well.
  5. Pour in 1 1/2 cup of water. Cover the pot and let it cook for 10-15 mins
  6. Let the potatoes cook a bit longer to a semi mashed consistency.
  7. Remove from heat when reached to the desired consistency.
  8. Serve along with steamed rice!
