Delicious Crunchy Sweet Dumplings

Luqaimat

Ingredients to make Luqaimat

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp active yeast
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 .5 tsp sugar
  • Few strands saffron
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom
  • oil for frying
  • 3-4 tbsp date syrup
  • 2 TSP roasted sesame seeds

How to make Luqaimat

  1. Mix flour, yeast, sugar,oil, saffron, cardamom and water to form smooth batter. Cover and Keep it aside for 1 hour
  2. Mix batter again, do not add water
  3. Heat oil, using spoon pour batter, fry until golden brown. Allow excess oil to be absorbed by absorbent material. Any additional batter should be discarded
  4. Coat the dumplings with date syrup and sprinkle sesame seeds. Serve warm. The dumplings should be consumed on same day
