Ingredients to make Thalipeeth

  • bajra flour 1 cup
  • Jowar flour 1/2 cup
  • Rice flour 1/2 cup
  • sesame seeds 1 tbsp
  • 1 tsp ajwain
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • butter to garnish
  • salt to taste
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • green chillies 2
  • red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  • Fresh coriander 1/2 cup
  • Gram flour 1/2 cup
  • garlic 8 cloves
  • 1 onion chopped

How to make Thalipeeth

  1. IN A MIXING BOWL ADD 1 CUP BAJARA FLOUR, 1/2 CUP JOWAR FLOUR.
  2. ADD 1 /2 CUP GRAM FLOUR, 1 /2 CUP RICE FLOUR.
  3. ADD 1 CHOPPED ONION, 1/2 CUP CHOPPED CORIANDER.
  4. IN A GRINDER ADD 2 GREEN CHILLIES, 8 CLOVES GARLIC, 1 TSP CUMIN SEEDS.
  5. ADD 1 TSP AJWAIN, SALT TO TASTE, MAKE A PASTE.
  6. ADD PASTE INTO MIX FLOUR.
  7. ADD 1 TSP SESAME SEEDS, 1 /2 RED CHILLI POWDER, 1 /2 TURMERIC POWDER
  8. ADD 1 TBSP OIL, MIX ALL INGREDIENTS.
  9. ADD LITTLE WATER MAKE A DOUGH.
  10. MAKE A SOFT PLIABLE DOUGH LIKE SO.
  11. KNEAD AND LEAVE FOR 5 MINUTES.
  12. MAKE A BALL.
  13. SPRINKLE SOME DRY FLOUR.
  14. LIGHTLY ROLL WITH ROLLING PIN.
  15. MAKE HOLES IN IT. THESE LITTLE HOLES ENSURE THAT THE THALIPEETH COOKS THROUGH EVENLY.
  16. HEAT TAVA & GREASED WITH 1 TSP OIL.
  17. GENTLY REMOVE THE THALIPEETH.
  18. POP ONTO A GREASED HOT TAWA & SPREAD SOME OIL AROUND IT & INTO THE HOLES.
  19. FRY ON A MEDIUM HEAT ON BOTH SIDES BY ADDING OIL TILL BOTH SIDES ARE WELL COOKED.
  20. GLASSY & HAVE BEAUTIFUL BROWN SPOTS ON THEM.
  21. REMOVE FROM TAWA.
  22. SERVE HOT WITH A DOLLOP OF BUTTER ON TOP & YOGURT ON THE SIDE.
