Yummy bittergourd fry

Ingredients to make Yummy bittergourd fry

  • Bittergourd 500 grams
  • Ginger-garlic paste 6 teaspoon
  • Rice bran oil 1 cup
  • Garam masala 5 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder 3 teaspoon
  • Chilli powder 2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt as per taste
  • Water- to make a paste of the above ingredients

How to make Yummy bittergourd fry

  1. Clean the bittergourd in running water and cut both the edges. Remove all the seeds from inside the bittergourd.
  2. Mix all the ingredients well [turmeric powder, coriander powder, Garam masala, salt , ginger garlic paste, chilli powder ] and make a paste of it.
  3. Apply the paste on both the sides of bittergourd. Leave it aside for 5 mins for the paste to set properly.
  4. Boil oil in a shallow pan, drop in the bitterguard and let it cook on both the sides.
  5. Now you can serve the shallow fried bittergourd along with tomato rice, sambhar rice which is the best combination.
My Tip: Try to shallow fry as much as possible so the vegetable retains it's bitter property which is very good for health.
