Sukhi Kolmi - Maharashtrian Prawns

Ingredients to make Sukhi Kolmi - Maharashtrian Prawns

  • 400 grams cleaned and shelled prawns
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 bunch fenugreek leaves or methi leaves, washed
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 10 peppercorns
  • 4 cloves
  • 2 green cardamom
  • Salt to taste
  • A pinch of sugar
  • 1 tsp oil

How to make Sukhi Kolmi - Maharashtrian Prawns

  1. In a bowl, mix together the coriander powder, chili powder, turmeric powder, salt and sugar with the prawns. Keep it aside.
  2. In a large saucepan, heat oil, add the green cardamom, cloves and pepper corn. Saute until its fragrant. Add in the onions and saute until its light brown.
  3. Add in the fenugreek leaves and stir fry on high for 3-4 minutes. Add in the prawns cook for an additional two minutes or until they are cooked through.
  4. Adjust the seasoning and serve it hot with rice.
