Layered Samosa

Ingredients to make Layered Samosa

  • 1 cup refined flour
  • 1/2 tbsp carrom seeds
  • salt to taste
  • oil 4 tbsp for filling
  • hing 1 pinch
  • Green chilli2
  • Raw banana 4
  • red chilli powder 1 tbsp
  • Corriender
  • turmeric
  • Garam masala
  • oil for fry

How to make Layered Samosa

  1. TAKE 1 CUP FLOUR, ADD 2 TBSP OIL, 1/2 TBSP EACH OF SALT & CAROM SEEDS, ADD SUFFICIENT WATER & KNEAD
  2. MAKE A SOFT DOUGH, ADD 1 TBSP OIL, COVER & SET ASIDE FOR 15 MINS
  3. FOR THE FILLING - HEAT 4 TBSP OIL, ADD 1/4 TSP ASAFOETIDA, 1/2 TBSP CUMIN SEEDS
  4. ADD 2 CHOPPED GREEN CHILLIES, SAUTE
  5. ADD 200 GMS MASHED RAW BANANAS
  6. ADD 3/4 TBSP SALT, 1/2 TSP RED CHILLI, 1/4 TSP TURMERIC
  7. ADD 1/2 TSP GARAM MASALA, 2 TBSP CHOPPED FRESH CORIANDER, STIR & COOK FOR 4-5 MINS, TAKE OFF HEAT
  8. MAKE SMALL BALLS OF THE READY DOUGH
  9. ROLL OUT AN OVAL, CUT INTO EQUAL HALVES FROM THE CENTRE LIKE THIS
  10. CUT STRIPS LIKE THIS, DAB WATER
  11. FILD & COVER, PAT DOWN LIGHTLY LIKE THIS
  12. FOLD INTO A CONE, SEE HOW THE LAYERS HAVE TURNED OUT
  13. FILL WITH 2 TBSP READY STUFFING
  14. PRESS & SEAL THE EDGES WITH WATER
  15. DEEP FRY IN OIL ON LOW MEDIUM HEAT
  16. FLIP & FRY TILL GOLDEN BROWN & CRISP ON BOTH SIDES
  17. SERVE HOT
