About Dry Dal Recipe

Dry dal is a north Indian side dish to serve with main meal like bean salad.

Dry Dal

Ingredients to make Dry Dal

  • Dhuli moong dal 1/2 cup
  • ghee 1 tbsp
  • cumin seeds 1/2 tesp
  • salt 3/4 tesp
  • turmeric powder 1/4 tesp
  • onion 1 small
  • tomato 1 small
  • Green chilli 1
  • Green coriander leaves 1 tbsp

How to make Dry Dal

  1. SOAK HALF CUP MOONG DAL IN 1 CUP OF WATER FOR 2 HOURS.
  2. WASH AND DRAIN SOAKED DAL.
  3. RINSE WITH FRESH WATER.
  4. SPLUTTER 1/2 TESP CUMIN SEEDS IN 1 TBSP GHEE.
  5. ADD DRAINED SOAKED DAL WITH HALF CUP OF WATER.
  6. ADD 3/4 TESP SALT AND 1/4 TESP TURMERIC POWDER.
  7. GIVE A BOIL AND THEN COOK COVERED ON SIM FOR AROUND 10 MINUTES.
  8. WATER HAS DRIED UP WITH DAL PERFECTLY COOKED. OFF THE HEAT.
  9. ADD FINELY CHOPPED ONIONS, TOMATOES, GREEN CHILIES AND GREEN CORIANDER LEAVES.
