Idli tikka

Ingredients to make Idli tikka

  • Plain mini idli 20-25
  • Capsicum cut into cubes 2
  • Onion cut into cubes 2
  • For the marination:
  • Mustard oil 1 tbsp
  • Curd 3 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Kasoori Methi 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice 1/2 tsp
  • Chaat Masala- to sprinkle on top
  • For idli:
  • Sooji 1 cup
  • Curd 1/4 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Chilli powder 1/4 tsp
  • Water as required
  • Eno 1 tsp

How to make Idli tikka

  1. For the mini idli, take a bowl and add all the ingredients of the idli except eno. Prepare a batter and keep it aside for 20 mins.
  2. Add the eno and mix it well, pour this batter into all the greased cavity of the idli stand.
  3. Cook it in the microwave for 3 mins on a high power.
  4. To prepare the marination, take a bowl add mix in all the listed marination ingredients well .
  5. Then add onion, capsicum and idli to it, toss it with a silicon spatula or a fork.
  6. Pierce the idli and veggies on the skewer, apply some oil with the brush and cook in an Airfryer for 5-10 mins. We can also cook it on a non-stick tawa as well.
  7. Sprinkle some chat masala over it and serve with mint chutney, sliced onion and lemon wedges.

My Tip:

We can use vegetable idli as well.
