About Mutton paaya Recipe

Leg pieces of Goat cooked with whole masalas.

Mutton paaya

Ingredients to make Mutton paaya

  • Leg pieces of Goat - 8 ( without skin)
  • onions - 3 (big size)
  • garlic - 1/2 tbsp (chopped)
  • ginger - 1/3 tbsp (chopped)
  • chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • oil - 1 tsp
  • salt - As required
  • Big cardamom - 2
  • Green cardamom - 4
  • cinnamon - 2( 1" stick)
  • clove - 2
  • nutmeg - 1/4 tsp( crushed)
  • mace - 1/2 tsp

How to make Mutton paaya

  1. Wash well mutton leg pieces.
  2. Put it in cooker with chopped onions, garlic paste or chopped garlic and ginger.
  3. Add chilli powder, Turmeric powder, salt, 1 tsp oil, whole garam masalas and 1 cup water.
  4. Close the lid of cooker and after 3 whistle lower the flame and cook on low flame for 15 minutes.
  5. Switch off the gas and let it cool.
  6. When it cool down check it, if it not done then cook for another 10 minutes on low flame.
  7. Add chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice.
  8. Before serving garnish with chopped coriander leaves and green chillies.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy with naan.
