Mushroom Masala

Ingredients to make Mushroom Masala

  • 200 Gms Button Mushrooms
  • 2 Onions finely chopped
  • 3 Tomatoes
  • 1 Green chilli. finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Ginger paste
  • 1 tsp Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 2 Cardamoms
  • 3 Cloves
  • 1/2 inch Cinnamon stick
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Cream
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • Fresh Coriander for garnishing
  • Salt to taste

How to make Mushroom Masala

  1. Blanch tomatoes in hot water and then puree. Wash and slice the mushrooms keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a round bottomed pan, add the cumin seeds, cardamom, cloves & cinnamon Stick.
  3. Add the onions, ginger, garlic paste, green chilli and let them cook on a medium flame till the onions are translucent.
  4. Add the tomato puree, cover and let it cook till the oil starts leaving the sides of the pan.
  5. Now add the mushrooms and all the dry masalas and cook over a medium flame for 10 – 15 minutes.
  6. Add the green peas and 1 -2 tsp of fresh cream, 1/2 cup water, mix well and cook over a medium flame.
  7. Once cooked garnish with chopped coriander and fresh cream before you serve with hot rotis.
