Ingredients to make Naral ani Kothimbir Chi Chutney (Coconut Coriander Chutney)

  • Fresh Coriander Leaves - 1 small bunch, about 250 gms, sorted, washed and roughly chopped
  • Fresh Coconut Pieces - of 1/2 a medium sized coconut
  • Cumin Seeds/ Sabut Zeera - 1 tsp
  • Green Chillies - 3-4
  • Garlic Flakes - peeled, 4-5 (optional)
  • Lemon Juice - freshly squeezed of 1 juicy medium sized lemon
  • Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Water - 1/4th cup, if required

How to make Naral ani Kothimbir Chi Chutney (Coconut Coriander Chutney)

  1. Powder the zeera first in the small jar of the mixer grinder.
  2. Now add the coconut pieces, coriander leaves, garlic flakes, green chillies, sugar, salt to taste and the lemon juice to the same jar and grind again into a smooth, runny texture.
  3. You may add a little water while grinding the chutney to blend all the ingredients well.
My Tip: You can add a handful of dry roasted peanuts too while grinding the chutney, gives it a wonderful nutty flavour. Or you can add a few raw mango pieces too when the kairis are in season which impart a tang. And you can also use this Chutney as a healthy, tasty and wholesome sandwich spread :)
